Shock: Carey Mulligan looks surprised as Keira Knightley kisses her in the trailer for new film Never Let Me Go

They first starred together in 2005 movie Pride And Prejudice.

But now Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan have teamed up again for new movie Never Let Me Go, where they play two friends who end up sharing a kiss in a moment of passion.

The film, based on the novel by British author Kazuo Ishiguro, tells the story of three children, Ruth, Tommy and Kathy, who grow up together after attending the same boarding school.

In the trailer for the highly-anticipated movie, which is released in the U.S. in October and will hit UK cinemas shortly afterwards, Knightley is seen leaning forward to kiss a somewhat surprised Mulligan as they sit on the bed.

But the kiss between the Hollywood actresses is not the only one in the film - as Knightley and Mulligan both also share moments of passion with Andrew Garfield, who plays their male friend Tommy.

While they have only starred alongside each other once before, Oscar-nominated actress Mulligan credits Knightley for being her 'acting coach' while they were on the set of Pride And Prejudice

She said: 'I was a real tomboy until was 15 – I didn't have my first kiss until a month away from being 16. So I just copied everything Keira did for weeks. She is still amazing to me.'

Talking about filming Pride And Prejudice, Mulligan added: 'That was a mad hippie summer – a party every weekend, lots of jumping naked into the lake.

'And I ate everything; my face ballooned. I realised catering is a very dangerous thing!'

Carey shot to fame after starring in An Education - the film she received her Best Actress Oscar nomination for.

She has since filmed Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps alongside real-life boyfriend Shia LaBeouf and is rumoured to be playing Lisbeth Salander in the Hollywood remake of Stieg Larsson's novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
