Blondes have more fun: Gail Porter can't stop smiling after regaining her thick blonde locks

Now that Gail Porter seems to have beaten alopecia, she’s having fun trying out new hairstyles and showed off her thick blonde crop at the Edinburgh TV Festival.

The presenter, 39, couldn’t stop smiling after regaining her lushes locks and flaunted the freshly highlighted tresses with an Alice band.

By March this year, Gail had regained 75 per cent of her lost hair, after being completely bald for five years.

New style: Gail has a thick new head of hair after being bald for five years

And after trying out various colours and styles, the Scottish beauty has decided blondes do have more fun and reminisced back to David Beckham’s Real Madrid days by sporting his famous ‘Alice Band’.

After falling victim to alopecia areata in 2005, Gail lost all her hair, eybrows and even eyelashes until it began growing back this year.

The fresh-faced star decided to keep the rest of her style casual at the festival, and strolled around in cuffed jeans, a checked shirt and scruffy Converse trainers.

Ready for bed? Karen Gillan wore a nighty-inspired white silk dress, paired up with black ankle boots and a red purse

Not everyone in Edinburgh looked as cool as Gail though and Doctor Who actress Karen Gillan showed off an unusual outfit choice yesterday.

The 22-year-old Scot combined a full-length white silk dress with black ankle boots and a red purse.

Her kooky look was an odd ensemble and the nighty-inspired dress might have suited a strappy pair of stilettos better, but Karen seemed confident as she posed for photographers.

Ginger wigs? Karen Gillan said she'd love to launch her own range of Amy Pond 'ginger wigs'

The famous redhead also revealed in Edinburgh that she’d love to release her own range of ginger wigs.

‘I really want to bring out a range of ginger wigs. I think that I should have my own Amy Pond wigs to sell to people’, she said.
